Student Changemakers Re-Imagine Sustainable Cities at Youth4Planet Challenge Exhibition

The Youth4Planet Challenge Exhibition recently opened at Level 4, Gastro Square in City Square Mall (31 October to 15 November, daily, from 10 am to 10 pm). Hosted by Hong Leong Asia Ltd. as part of its BeyondHLA sustainability / youth-empowerment initiative, the public showcase features visionary makers from Xingnan Primary School alongside co-designed inclusive-play installations created by Jurong Pioneer Junior College students and their partners from Dialogue in the Dark Singapore (with support from DesignSingapore Council and SG Enable).

Why It Matters:
In a rapidly urbanising world, today’s cities often struggle with congestion, air-pollution, social isolation and unsustainable infrastructure. The Youth4Planet Challenge empowers young people to move beyond awareness to action: using STEAM, storytelling and hands-on prototyping to redesign inclusive and sustainable city-futures. The models and installations on display show how students are tackling real–world issues — from climate-resilient transport to accessible play environments.

What to See / Experience:
Interactive model-cities crafted by primary school students exploring green mobility, resilient architecture and future communities.
Inclusive-design play zones co-created with visually-impaired buddies, inviting visitors to experience and reflect on accessibility in urban spaces.
Drop-in weekend activities for families (colour-and-create, design your own district) and guided walk-throughs for school groups.
  • About the Hosts & Partners:
Hong Leong Asia Ltd. is a diversified property and hospitality group committed to its BeyondHLA corporate-citizenship pillar, which includes youth STEAM programmes, sustainability education and employee-volunteer engagement.
